KAA Gent wins fourth Belgian Cup

KAA Gent won the 2021/22 Croky Cup. The Buffaloes beat RSC Anderlecht 4-3 on penalties on Monday in a thrilling final at the King Baudouin Stadium.

After 120 minutes the score was still 0-0 and the final had to be decided by penalties. Goalkeeper Davy Roef was the hero with two penalty saves against his former club whereas Anderlecht keeper Hendrik Van Crombrugge was only able to save one penalty.

This is the Buffaloes' fourth Belgian Cup in the club's history. The last time they won the Croky Cup was in the 2009/10 season. As cup winner, KAA Gent gets a ticket for the last qualifying round of the Europe League.
