Pro League launches English website
Football fans around the world show increasing interest in the Jupiler Pro League and its football players. Our matches are now broadcast or streamed in 108 different countries. In order to reach those fans better, the Pro League is launching a website in English and summaries with English commentary.
The international attention for the Pro League competitions is growing with every season. In Denmark, people love to follow the exploits of Casper Nielsen. Nigerian fans don't want to miss Paul Onuachu's goals. Canadians show huge interest in the development of talents Tajon Buchanan or Liam Fraser. And Japanese stars Junya Ito and Shinji Kagawa also draw international fans to the TV screen every football weekend.
In order to serve these fans better, to give more attention to our international talent and to increase the visibility of the Belgian professional competitions, the Pro League is launching a website in English. From now on, a selection of our most important news articles will be accessible to a wider audience. But the fan can also consult the Jupiler Pro League and 1B Pro League rankings, match reports, player data profiles, summaries and videos in English.
CEO Lorin Parys of the Pro League: "Our Belgian football leagues thrill fans from as many as 108 different countries every week. In order to better inform and entertain them, it makes sense to also communicate in English. Thanks to our broadcaster Eleven Sports, thousands of international fans can now watch summaries of our matches with English commentary. This is not only good for them, but also for the Pro League, our clubs and the players."
